What children want from welfare and protection services

Along with the Association of Children’s Welfare Agencies, the Commission for Children and Young People held a Research Forum on Tuesday 14 February on what children and young people want from child welfare and protection services. Associate Professor Dr Helen Buckley – from the School of Social Work and Social Policy, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland – presented findings for research studies carried out in Ireland into the views of children and young people.

Young People Advisory Group kicks off

A real highlight from last week was meeting with our newly formed Young People Advisory Group during their orientation on 23 and 24 January. The Advisory Group, made up of 12 young people from six schools across NSW, is an exciting opportunity for young people to be heard and to influence decisions that affect young people throughout NSW.
