Changing laws for kids

On 10 February 2003, new offences were introduced into the NSW criminal law. These offences penalise the assault, harassment, stalking or intimindation of students and school staff, whilst on school premises or entering or leaving school. A school student covers chldren attending child care faclilities.

The law is not intended to alter how schools handle disciplinary problems.
