Employer-related bodies help employers background check short-term employees.
Employers registered with an employer-related body can submit background checks for casual or short term employees to the employer-related body.
If there is a current check for that employee, the employer related body will use it, and issue an immediate result.
This allows one background check to stay current for up to 12 months, even though the employee changes jobs.
This system is available only where the employee will work in the same kind of child-related employment, for example child care or sports coaching.
Employer-related bodies must meet certain criteria to be accredited by the Commission. The Commission won’t accredit an employer related body unless you can show you’ll save at least 200 checks a year.
The Commission is trialling one organisation as an employer-related body in 2007.
