Long Day Care centres with QIAS accreditation, NSW and Australia, 1999-2007

Child_Care_Quality_1

Notes: Data based on centres accredited on June 30 of each year (percentage based on centres eligible for an accreditation decision). Long Day Care Centres registered with the Quality Improvement and Accreditation System must progress through the five steps of Child Care Quality Assurance to be eligible for an accreditation decision.  As such some centres registered with the scheme may not have completed all steps required for an accreditation decision to be made by June 30.

Comment

In NSW, the proportion of accredited centres decreased from 97.0% in 2006 to 92.5% in 2007.  This follows an upward trend from 2003 to 2006.

From 2003 to 2007, the proportion of accredited centres in NSW has been similar to Australia as a whole.
