To celebrate Children’s Week (22-30 October), the NSW Commission for Children and Young People invited kids to design a vibrant and original poster that promotes the Commission as “a voice for kids”. Chelsea came across the competition on a poster in her school library at Marian College, Kenthurst.

“I entered because I thought it looked like a lot of fun. I love art and especially drawing. I never expected to win. It was a great feeling to have people appreciate the hard work I put into the poster," Chelsea said.

The Commissioner for Children and Young People, Ms Megan Mitchell, noted that Chelsea’s winning poster best fits the competition brief, is visually appealing and original, is appropriate for all ages, and communicates the Commission’s objectives and values.

“Chelsea told me that she wants to work as a graphic designer when she leaves school. I hope that winning this competition inspires Chelsea to pursue her dreams, and seek further education and training in this area,” Commissioner Mitchell said.

200 fantastic and high quality poster designs were submitted in total. Three highly commended entries by Austin Grant, Ashley Sarah Wilson and Maria Jang each receive $100. A certificate of appreciation and thank you gift will be sent to participants.
