NOTE: An important announcement about booking our meeting rooms.

Unfortunately we’re not able to make our meeting rooms available to external friends from 30 September 2009. The Commission is expanding and we need the space for our staff.

Over the past nine years we’ve enjoyed supporting both government and non-government agencies in their work with kids through the use of our meeting rooms.

We’re don’t know at this stage whether the Participation Room will be available during out of office hours and on weekends. We‘ll know more once the accommodation plans are finalised. So keep checking the website for updates.

The Commission has three meeting rooms available for kids and groups that work with kids.

We’re a short walk from Sydney’s Central station so it’s easy for people to get to and from city and country buses and trains. There’s a balcony, kitchen facilities, a chill-out space and a play area for young children. All the furniture in the rooms can be moved and all rooms have good wheelchair access.

Our meeting rooms take their names from principles from our Act and the United Nations International Convention on the Rights of the Child. The rooms are subject to availability and if you book, there are conditions you must agree to.

Participation Room: Big enough for a meeting of about 30 people sitting at a table or 50 people sitting lecture style. The room includes a large table, whiteboard and audio visual facilities.
Best Interests Room: Seats about 20 people comfortably, with a whiteboard.
Family Room: Suitable for smaller groups, it seats about 10 people.
