The NSW Child Death Review Team provides information about child deaths and aims to prevent or reduce the number of deaths of children in NSW from birth to 17 years.
Following a recommendation made by Justice Wood’s 2008 Inquiry into Child Protection Services in NSW, the Children Legislation Amendment (Wood Inquiry Recommendations) Act 2009 provided for the transfer of responsibility for coordinating the Child Death Review Team from the Commission for Children and Young People to the NSW Ombudsman’s office: http://www.ombo.nsw.gov.au. The transfer was completed in 2011. CDRT publications released before 2011 are available here.
